BANGKADI, MUANG, PATHUTHAMI, THAILAND -- SVI Public Co. today said preproduction operations have commenced at its Chaengwattana EMS site and full production will start by month's end.

The moves are in response to a fire that ravaged a company plant called SVI on Nov. 12. That plant will be off-limits until January, per orders of government inspectors.

Renovations also continue at SVI 2, located in the Bangkadi Industrial Park, where the company is adding capacity.
