GARY, INDIANA – The city of Gary is suing Akyumen Technologies for failing to live up to its plans to build a smartphone manufacturing assembly plant here.

MAPLE GROVE, MN – AbelConn Electronics opened a 110,000 sq. ft. facility here, where the wholly owned subsidiary of Celestica will provide rapid prototyping, volume manufacturing, and engineering support for the defense and aerospace industries. The new site will also serve customers in other highly regulated markets such as healthtech, industrial and smart energy.

MIAMI – Element Solutions reported second quarter net sales for the Electronics segment increased 51% to $382 million. Organic net sales increased 25%.

NEEDHAM, MA – Chromebook shipments in the second quarter grew 68.6% year-over-year, with volumes reaching 12.3 million units, says International Data Corp. While this wasn't a record quarter for Chromebooks, it wasn’t far off the prior two quarters, which shattered previous highs.
