SCHAFFHAUSEN, SWITZERLANDTyco International Ltd. reported fourth-quarter revenue of $4.4 billion, down 16% year-over-year.

Income from continuing operations for the quarter was $207 million, down 22% year-over-year.

For the full year, revenue of $17.2 billion declined 15% compared to 2008.

"Our operating results for the fourth quarter reflect good progress in reducing our overall cost structure, while we continue to invest in the future growth of our businesses," said Ed Breen, Tyco chairman and CEO. "We generated strong cash flow in the quarter, effectively managed our working capital, and we finished the year in strong financial condition."

TAIPEIFoxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) reported unconsolidated revenues of $4.99 billion for October, up 8.49% sequentially.

EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDSAssembléon is joining Valor Computerized Systems to provide software for its pick-and-place equipment.

The companies have introduced a suite of software and tools for electronic equipment assembly that will automate machine-, line- and factory-level workflows and business processes.

The software suite automates process preparation and engineering, work-order and workflow control, and tactical-level scheduling. There are modules for quality, test, inspection and repair, real-time performance management and reporting, as well as materials flow and replenishment management. 

No financial terms of the partnership were disclosed.
