The EU WEEE Directive, in place since Aug. 13, 2005, could have served as a model for what to do and what not to do when state legislatures propose and enact e-waste Legislation. It would appear that many of the same issues facing manufacturers that place products on the market in the EU are being repeated in the states' legislation.
PICKERING, UK – Contract Production Ltd. has acquired EMS firm Micro Forge Ltd. for an undisclosed sum.
Contract Production, a new company, reportedly has retained most of Micro Forge’s staff, and plans to hire an undisclosed number of new workers.
The firm will focus on low to medium-size production runs, and technical and prototype design assistance.
Contract Production’s first major contract is with Cirrus Research.
BILLINGSTAD, NORWAY -- Kitron ASA will open a fully owned subsidiary in Johnstown, PA, early next year, the company said.
