WILSONVILLE, OR – Mentor Graphics’ Displaced Worker Program offers free training on the company’s CAD tools to help engineers stay current while they continue their job search.
The program includes an employment and training community to provide a central place to network with peers, post or review resumes, and ask questions about the program.
The program has assisted nearly 500 workers to date, the company says.

MILWAUKIE, OR – ECD is offering a method said to ensure profiling tools are always in calibration.
The firm developed M.O.L.E. Calibration Contracts with Options in response to customers wanting to be reminded when to recalibrate.
Calibration contracts are designed with the process engineer in mind. They are structured to increase productivity by saving time, money, and eliminating downtime during calibration.
Three contracts are available: Basic, Express, and Premium, ranging from one to three years in length.

TAIPEI – Dr. Jennie S. Hwang delivered keynote speeches on renewable energy and global competitiveness at Hsinchu Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Taiwan University and National Central University during a recent trip to Taiwan.
Hwang, a veteran electronics manufacturing engineer, executive and inventor, presented Renewable Energy, Smart Grid and Sustainable Energy Model and Innovation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship – Global Competitiveness.
Hwang was the first Asian-American woman elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
