CHICAGO -- There were four completed EMS transactions in the third quarter, plus one consolidation, according to investment bankers Lincoln International. The firm listed Wright Industries' acquisition of Custom Interconnect, Nittoku Denshi's purchase of Ohens, Nistec's acquisition of Eltek and OSI Electronics' acquisition of Briton EMS.

LAGUNA, PHILIPPINES – Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. reported net income jumped 72% to $3.2 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30. Net sales were $196.6 million, the company's best quarter this year, up 15.5% from 2012.
SON, THE NETHERLANDS -- Neways Electronics said third-quarter electronics manufacturing services continued to pick up as backlogs and profits were up. Profitability rose despite a 1.6% drop in sales from the third quarter of 2012, to EUR 68.4 million ($92.5 million).
ST. LOUIS -- Viasystems reported Net sales and operating income in the company’s assembly segment were $52.4 million and $800,000, respectively, down 9.5% and 50%, from the third quarter 2012. The segment had an operating loss of $100,000 on net sales of $44.9 million in the June quarter.

JASPER, IN -- Kimball International said net income at its electronics manufacturing services segment rose 127% to $7.5 million for the period ended Sept. 30. Net sales were up 7% during the quarter to $175.6 million.
