VERN SUR SEICHE, FRANCE -- Lacroix Electronique SAS has acquired fellow EMS firm PrehTronics GmbH for an undisclosed amount.

The combined companies will have annual sales over 135 million euros.

In a press release, Lacroix chairman Yves Krotoff said, "The acquisition means we have moved decisively closer to our goal: rising to become one of the leaders on the European EMS market. The two companies are highly complementary, enabling us to create ideal conditions in which to pursue our dynamic growth."

Lacroix said it the move adds to its professional and automotive electronics share. The company has sites in France, Poland and Tunisia.

PrehTronics, which is based in Willich, Germany, near Düsseldorf, employs 130 workers and reported sales of 29.6 million euros in 2007. It also manufactures in Romania.

Lacroix had sales of  105 million euros in 2006/07, up 18% year-over-year, and employs 1,273 workers.
