TAIPEI – Leading PC ODM Asustek Computer is forecasting notebook shipments to grow 50% and PC shipments to jump 60% next year, according to reports.
The company, the world's third largest ODM, will outsource much of the increased orders, the
Economic Daily News said today.
Asustek outsources PC and notebook build to its
Pegatron Technology subsidiary and
Foxconn Electronics. Pegatron will maintain its current production, EDN said. A third company will be added to hande the uptick, the paper said.
Pegatron is reportedly on the block, with Foxconn among the rumored suitors. Both companies have denied the reports.
