NASHVILLE -- Sean McShefferty, a veteran of more than 20 years in electronics manufacturing and North American electronics sales manager at
Kyzen, died Oct. 12 following a long battle with cancer.
In a statement, Kyzen vice president Tom Forsythe said, “It is with deep sorrow that we received word of Sean McShefferty’s passing. Sean has battled stomach cancer for nearly two years and until quite recently had remarkably maintained a near-normal schedule, not only managing to continue with his duties at Kyzen but also being active at his church, in outreach programs for cancer awareness, as well as supporting other cancer patients and survivors.
"A man of boundless energy and enthusiasm, Sean would light up any room
he entered. Likewise, the world was a friend to Sean and he was well
known to strike up a conversation with princes, paupers, and anyone
else that had the joy of crossing his path. All became fast and lasting
friends," Forsythe said.
McShefferty, a native of the East Coast, attended college in
San Diego and remained there after school. He spent nearly 13 years at
Kyzen.
A viewing will be held Oct. 19 at St Peter's Episcopal
Church in Del Mar, CA (858-755-1616) from 4 to 8 p.m., with funeral
services at St. Peter’s on Oct. 20 at 1 p.m.
A fund is being established to help the family provide for
education of McShefferty's two young children. The family asks that in
lieu of flowers, friends consider a donation to the education fund:
McShefferty Family Fund, Pacific Marine Credit Union, Acct # 2006007
2454 Vista Way, Oceanside, CA 92054.
Kyzen is organizing a memorial slideshow to run on its Website (
kyzen.com). Photos for inclusion are being accepted and will be returned.
