SAN JOSE -- Global semiconductor sales fell almost 10% year-over-year in November to $20.8 billion, the Semiconductor Industry Association said today.

The results brought year-to-date sales to $232.7 billion, a 0.2% year-over-year gain.

November sales were down 7.2% sequentially. Sluggish memory pricing caused the biggest hit; excluding memory devices, IC sales fell 4.8%.

The memory market data obscure year-over-year gains for certain other semiconductors, SIA president George Scalise said in a press release.

By region, the Americas were hit the hardest, with revenues down 19.5%. Europe was off 13.9%, and Asia-Pacific was down 6.2%.
