NEW YORK -- An Oppenheimer analyst is raising his outlook for the semiconductor manufacturing equipment sector on the heels of data showing wider growing demand.

Gary Hsueh says he has "turned bullish" on the sector, saying that the industry's fortunes are turning and demand is picking up.

Wafer fabrication equipment demand is growing from Intel to DRAM and NAND flash memory producers, foundries, and other microprocessor suppliers such as Advanced Micro Devices.

“We have, officially, turned bullish,” Hsueh said, according to reports.
