MINNEAPOLIS -- HEI Inc. today reported second-quarter net sales fell 28.8% year-over-year to $7.8 million on lower demand.

For the period ended July 4, the company reported a net loss of $167,000, versus net income of $661,000 a year ago.

HEI designs and manufactures electronics assemblies and systems for the medical, hearing, telecommunications, and industrial markets.
