SAN DIEGO -- Industry veteran Richard (Dick) Schedtler died yesterday from cancer.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 13 at 2 pm at St. Bart's Episcopal Church, 16275 Pomerado Road, Poway, CA  92064.

Schedtler was vice president and owner of AR Marketing, an electronics assembly industry public relations agency. Before switching to PR, Schedtler worked in industry with Intel. He was a graduate of Iowa State University. A prolific letter writer, he counted watching the San Diego Chargers and riding motorcycles among his hobbies.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Roberts, with whom he owned AR Marketing.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to the Onyango Educational Fund, 48 Groveland Terrace, Unit 204, Minneapolis, MN 55403, an educational fund to support Kenyan orphans.
