SKELLEFTEA, SWEDEN -- Top 50 EMS firm Note Ab will sell its operations here to optoelectronics services provider Optronic for an undisclosed amount.

A settlement has been reached, the company said today, and some staff will be transferred to Optronic.

Note previously had moved most of the plant's volume production, which was primarily telecom related, to plants in Estonia and China and downsized its operations in Skellefteå to 40 employees.

In a press release, Note CEO and president Knut Pogost said, “The deal allows us to reduce our total assets, while also helping us lift our margins somewhat in the fourth quarter.”

Note ranked 50th worldwide in EMS sales in 2008, according to the CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50.
