ARLINGTON, VA -- Electronics components orders swung higher in January for the seventh month in a row, according to a trade group of component manufacturers.

Significantly, January was perhaps the biggest jump of the current growth curve, said Electronic Components Association.

The trade group, which issues a monthly statement based on reports from leading component manufacturers, said manufacturers are likely reacting to a combination of factors, including internal supply chain intelligence, good demand during the recent holiday season, and positive analyst forecasts predicting a mild recovery for the electronics market this year.

“The industry has seen a decent rebound for more than half a year, and the start of a new year typically leads to optimism,” said ECA president Bob Willis. “Unlike the market decline we had in 2009, key indicators point to modest growth this year.”
