WEYBRIDGE, ENGLAND -- TT Electronics' EMS unit saw operating profits on higher sales in the first half, rising 20% from a year ago to 1.8 million pounds.

The division's sales were up 11% to 42.7 million pounds through June 30, the company said.

During the quarter, TT IMS completed the closing of its Aylesbury plant and transferred manufacturing to Rogerstone.

TT Electronics, which also makes components such as sensors, said revenue from continuing operations rose 23% to 280.7 million pounds. The company's adjusted pretax profit through June 30 was 9.3 million pounds ($14.53 million), up from a loss of 3.8 million pounds a year ago.

The firm said its second-half outlook is improving. "The outlook for the second half of the year is positive although some uncertainty remains, particularly around macro economic conditions," chief executive Geraint Anderson said.
