MELBOURNE, FL – Even in an upturn, companies close their doors. The latest EMS firm to fold is Msi of Central Florida, which will be auctioned later this month.
The privately held MSi was owned by Jesse Upchurch, who with Charles Tandy formed Tandy Leather and later started Radio Shack. It had three SMT lines in its facility just outside the Melbourne airport grounds. The firm primarily built for military and medical OEMs such as BAE, GE, Sypris and NASA.
Calls to the company were not immediately returned.
