TAIPEI – Foxconn will invest a reported $260.7 million to establish two subsidiaries and expand five existing ones in China, according to published reports.

The ODM/EMS company will build sites in Chongqing and Huizhou, investing a total of $65 million, DigiTimes reported. It will expand sites in Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Huai-an and Shenzhen. Two handset campuses in Zhengzhou will receive a total of $102 million, while the Chengdu site, which makes tablet PCs (it was not specified if for Apple or another OEM), will garner $80 million.

Foxconn also will invest about $11 million in its printed circuit board factory in Huai-an. The remainder of the funds will go to a plastic molding site in Shenzhen.
