CHONGQING, CHINA – Walsin Technology Corp., and its subsidiaries Global Brands Manufacture Ltd. and Prosperity Dielectrics Co., signed an agreement with the Chongqing Municipal City Government to build passive component factories here.
Walsin expects to set aside up to $100 million for expansions, including a second capacitor factory in Kaohsiung, say published reports.
The firm said the move is for growth during the next three to five years. Construction of the sites is expected to begin in 2011.
In Chongqing, the sites will accommodate PCB, PCBA and capacitors. It will be the first time a Taiwan-based capacitor maker will set up production here, according to reports.
