STOCKHOLM – Pick-and-place OEM Mydata reported 2010 net sales rose 30% year-over-year to SEK 615 million ($96.9 million), buoyed by an industrywide jump in demand for SMT equipment.
Orders rose 54% on 200% growth for its highest-end placement equipment and jet printing technology, which Mydata says has more than 100 installations.
In a press release, senior vice president and general manager Robert Göthner said, “In 2010, producers freed up capital to upgrade older equipment and increase production capacity.”
During the year, Mydata opened an office in Shanghai and saw positive growth signs in the US and Europe as the global semiconductor business picked up by 33% last year. Semiconductors are considered a leading indicator of printed circuit board demand.
Mydata is a subsidiary of Micronic Mydata, which it merged with in 2009.
