EINDHOVEN, NETHERLANDS -- The management of Marantz Business Electronics, the AOI division of D&M Europe, has purchased the unit from its parent company.
The business, which sells SPI and AOI equipment under the brand names iSpector and PowerSpector for inspecting printed circuit boards, will be known as MEK Europe BV.
No financial terms were disclosed. However, the company said existing distributor contracts, agreements, service, support and warranty arrangements have been transferred to MEK Europe.
The move by MEK Europe follows that of MEK Japan, which split from Marantz AV in 1997.
The new company will relocate to close to Eindhoven city center.
MEK Europe managing director Henk Biemans said, “The move signals extremely exciting times for us as a business and for our customers. It has enabled us to expand our development team in order to fast-track system and software developments. What’s more, an expanded support team has enabled us to raise the bar once more in terms of the service we deliver to customers."
