TAIPEI -- Hon Hai (Foxconn) reported June revenues rose 15.6% from last year to NT$228.4 billion ($7.93 billion) on higher demand for PC tablets and computers.
Revenues rose 13.9% sequentially, the world's largest EMS company said. Second quarter revenue jumped 23.2% to NT$633 billion ($21.9 billion). Foxconn's second quarter revenue by itself would make the company the world's second-largest contract printed circuit board maker -- for the year.
During the quarter, Foxconn relocated a major factory to Chengdu from Shenzhen, although it was beset by production issues stemming from a deadly explosion in a metal polishing plant in Chengdu in May.
