TOKYO – The 90-day average orders at Japan-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers in June fell 11.3% from last year to ¥99.8 billion ($1.27 billion).
Bookings were down 16.3% from the final May figures, said the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan.
The three-month average worldwide billings was ¥ 104.3 billion, down 17.4% from the revised May number and up 29.9% from a year ago.
The book-to-bill ratio was 0.96, the SEAJ said. A book-to-bill ratio of 0.96 means that ¥ 96 worth of new orders was received for every ¥100 of product billed for the month. A ratio over 1.0 is a sign of future expansion. The SEAJ book-to-bill is a ratio of three-month moving average bookings to three-month moving average
