DULUTH, GA – The Atlanta Chapter of Women in Electronics awarded GeorgiaFIRST a $1,300 donation, putting total chapter donations at $200,000 since 1985.
WIE chose GeorgiaFIRST as a recipient because the non-profit organization relies on volunteers, sponsors and donations to operate to support educational programs designed to inspire youth to be successful in science, math and technology.
WIE awards annual academic scholarships to female students studying in the field of electronics/technology at local colleges and universities. WIE also supports other non-profit, charitable organizations throughout the year.
Funding for WIE’s programs is generated through corporate sponsorship and proceeds from annual fundraisers.
