TOKYO -- Juki's Electronics Assembly Systems business unit reported six-month sales of 11.75 billion yen ($151.3 million), down 1.9% year-over-year on slower demand in China.

Business was steady in the US and Europe during the period ended Sept. 30, the company said.The unit had net profits of 408 million yen, down from 443 million yen last year.

Overall sales for the company, which is a major maker of sewing machines, were up 0.2% to 43.47 billion yen. Net incomes was 724 million yen ($9.3 million), up from 640 million yen a year ago.
