SIEVI, FINLAND -- Scanfil will lay off 64 workers here as the EMS firm tries to shore up the site's flagging profitability.
The contract electronics manufacturer had been engaged in mandatory employee negotiations regarding the layoffs since late February.
The layoffs include hourly workers and salaried employees and will be completed by the end of May. The layoffs represent about 10% of the company's local workforce.
Scanfil ranked 48th in the latest CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50, released this week.
