SUZHOU, CHINA -- Panasonic Factory Solutions Suzhou has begun operations at its new 376,000 sq. ft. factory here, where it will build SMT placement equipment and peripherals.

The 35,000 sq. meter plant is about three times larger than the former site. Panasonic celebrated the opening in a ceremony on April 27 with about 120 participants.

Panasonic built its original Suzhou site in October 2003, and since the following year has supplied surface mount placement mounters, solder paste printers and peripherals.
