ANGLETON, TX – Contract manufacturer Benchmark Electronics reported second-quarter net income fell 6.7% year-over-year to $14 million.
Profits were up 133.3% sequentially on increased revenue at the EMS firm.
For the period ended June 30, the printed circuit assembler recorded revenue of $630 million, up 8% year-over-year and 6% sequentially.
Computers and related products accounted for 31% of total revenue, compared to 28% in the same period last year. Industrial control equipment was 26% of revenue, compared to 28% in the second quarter of 2011. Telecommunications equipment was 25% of revenue, up from 23% in the comparable period last year.
For the third quarter, the firm expects revenue between $595 million and $625 million.
