COLUMBUS, OH -- A US district court jury has found a New York man guilty on 39 counts of mail and wire fraud, false claims and money laundering for selling nonconforming parts to the Department of Defense.

The jury says that between 2006 and 2009, Jerome Rabinowitz, also known as Jerry Roth, operating a company named J&W Technologies, sold semiconductors and passive components to the DoD for use in the Navy Nuclear Reactors Program, on military aircraft, and in submarine weapons systems.

According to the court, Rabinowitz substituted counterfeit parts that were either surplus or in some cases manufactured in the 1960s and '70s. He was also accused of providing forged documents to the DoD to suggest the parts were purchased from legitimate manufacturers.

Rabinowitz could be sentenced to a total of 600 years in prison for all the guilty findings, plus $250,000 for each count.
