HAMILTON, BERMUDA -- Courts in Hong Kong and Bermuda will hold hearings in early September to approve creditor's plans for bankrupt EMS firm Surface Mount Technology (Holdings) Ltd.

SMT Holdings' creditors had met earlier this month to approve a plan for the company, which is undergoing reorganization.

Applications have been made to the High Court of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Supreme Court of Bermuda for
approvals of the creditors’ plans, with hearing dates set Sept. 5 in Hong Kong and Sept. 7 in Bermuda, respectively.
