VERL, GERMANY -- Smyczek GmbH, a German EMS company, has been acquired by the Beckhoff Group.

Terms were not disclosed.

Beckoff was Smyczek's primary customer, and it built printed circuit board assemblies for Beckhoff’s control technology.

Smyczek managing directors, Roland Smyczek and Michael Schlegel, will remain with the company. Smyczek has 113 employees and runs a 48,000 sq. ft. factory in Verl, Germany. The company was founded in 1985.

“The two Verl-based companies are linked by a long-standing successful cooperation. A large proportion of the printed circuit boards for Beckhoff automation components, from the I/O bus terminal to the highly integrated industrial motherboard, is manufactured by Smyczek,” said Hans Beckhoff, managing director of Beckhoff Automation. “The integration of Smyczek is intended to further intensify the cooperation, in order to bring new technologies and products onto the market faster.”

Smyczek also manufactures for other industrial customers.
