SAN JOSE — North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers reported the 90-day moving average worldwide orders rose 2.8% from last year in September.

OEMs reported $952.9 million in orders in September on a three-month average basis, down 15.% from the revised August figures.

The book-to-bill ratio was 0.81, SEMI said, meaning that $81 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month.

The three-month average worldwide billings in September was $1.18 billion, down 12% from the revised August levels and down 10.4% from September 2011.

The SEMI book-to-bill is a ratio of three-month moving averages of worldwide bookings and billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers. Billings and bookings figures are in millions of US dollars.
