TAIPEIFoxconn may expand its operation to the US, say published reports.

The electronics manufacturer is said to be evaluating a few US cities, including Detroit and Los Angeles, according to “market watchers.” It is unclear who the market watchers are who make these claims.

The market watchers say that Foxconn would look to make LCD televisions in the US.

The news comes after Foxconn was reportedly in talks with Sharp earlier in 2012 to acquire two of its assembly plants in Mexico and China, where Sharp produces LCD TVs.

Back in May, Foxconn invested $210 million in a new Jiangsu factory.
