SAO PAOLO, BRAZIL -- A Hon Hai (Foxconn) subsidiary has acquired a 350-acre site outside Sao Paolo for $12.6 million and is planning a massive expansion there.
Foxconn CMMSG Industria de Electronicos acquired the land from Toulouse Incorporacao. The company reportedly plans to invest nearly $500 million toward new plants for building smartphones, tablets and other electronics devices.
The company currently has four factories in Brazil. The latest greenfield is expected to open in 2014.
