NELSON, BC -- Pacific Insight Electronics swung to a September quarter profit on a big jump in sales.

The EMS company said fiscal first-quarter sales were $11.48 million, up 37% from 2011, and a company record. Net income was $56,000, up from a net loss of $431,000 last year.

PI focuses on electronics design and manufacturing for the heavy truck, automotive and specialty markets.
