HAWTHORNE, CA -- OSI Systems' Optoelectronics and Manufacturing division saw revenues and operating income increase 12% and 23%, respectively, over last year, the company said today.

The unit had sales of $57.3 million for the second fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31. Operating income rose to $5.5 million.

Overall, the company reported revenues of $194 million for the quarter, up 3% from a year ago. Net income was $12.4 million, basically flat with fiscal 2012.

Backlogs rose $600 million from last year, and cash flow from operations was $20 million.
