TUALATIN, OR — Partron will immediately stop production of LDS parts on non-LPKF laser machines as part of an agreement covering patent infringement, LPKF announced.

Under terms of the agreement, as announced by LPKF, Partron will also purchase 20 new LPKF Fusion3D laser machines and solely use LPKF equipment for laser direct structuring in the future. In exchange, LPKF will suspend its legal action the Korean company.

The LDS-process involves use of a laser to directly transfer artwork from a PC to an injection-molded component, so no additional tools or masks are required. Structuring takes place solely on the basis of the existing CAD data.
