RIDGELAND, MS -- Diversified Technology, a contract assembler of embedded computer printed circuit boards, has ceased operations and will be auctioned.

DTI was notable for creating the first IBM-compatible ISA bus passive-backplane single board-slot card computer.

Founded in 1971, DTI was acquired in 1986 by Ergon, an oil and gas conglomerate.

The company said products under warranty will be serviced by Avnet Integrated.

DTI is at least the seventh EMS to close so far this year.
