SHEEPBRIDGE, CHESTERFIELD, ENGLAND -- Kingfield Electronics will move into a new 40,000 sq. ft. facility later this year as the contract electronics manufacturer takes on additional customers and orders.

The EMS company acquired the site at the Chesterfield Trading Estate, which is close to its existing premises. The purchase culminates two years of looking, and the transition will occur throughout the remainder of 2013 and early 2014.

The new site is twice the size of the EMS firm's existing plant.

In a statement, managing director Nick Taylor said, “During the last 24 months we have added both a number of new customers and activities into the business. The new facility will provide significant opportunities for expansion and will allow us to combine related processes promoting smoother material and process flows throughout the operation. This can only lead to significant benefits for our customers.

"I am extremely excited that we have been able to complete the purchase of this facility. The close physical proximity of the new facility means that the impact to our employees will be minimal. Once the initial move has been completed, the new facility also provides the opportunity for additional investment in new equipment and infrastructure to take place, and this again provides great opportunities for our future positioning within the contract-electronics manufacturing sector.”
