BANNOCKBURN, IL – IPC has appointed industry veteran Randy Cherry as director of its new validation business unit.

Cherry will take a leadership role in developing and implementing new validation services around IPC standards. This unit will provide audit, inspection, testing and advisory services to suppliers throughout the electronics industry, initially targeting market segments that demand high reliability, such as defense and aerospace, automotive, medical and telecommunication sectors.

For the last 20 years, Cherry has been involved with qualification and evaluation of printed boards, assembly materials and equipment. Prior to joining IPC, he was a principal engineer within the component technology group at Tellabs.
