PARNU, ESTONIA -- Scanfil is adding employees and equipment at its plants in Pärnu and Suzhou to keep pace with customer demand.

The EMS company has increased head count in Pärnu by about 25 workers since the beginning of the year, bringing the total to over 460.

Both the Pärnu and Suzhou sites have added new testing equipment and various other manufacturing lines.

"The outlook of the economy is not very bright at the moment, but we have several customers who perform well," CEO Petteri Jokitalo told news2biz. "With investing in our plants we try to keep up with these clients. If they do well, they order more from us, and if we increase our attractiveness as a services provider by investing in quality and flexibility, we are also able to grab some share at the expense of other services providers those well-performing clients have."
