KAUNAS, LITHUANIA -- Kitron has terminated plans to establish a distribution center here because the project has proved to be costlier and more complex than originally assumed. The EMS company will take a NOK 9 million charge in the fourth quarter to cover incurred costs and incurred liabilities.

Kitron in October had announced plans to build the center at its factory here in order as part of an inventory reduction effort. The company said it would take other measures in order to achieve the cost savings that the project was meant to deliver.
