DALLAS, TX – Contemporary Research has acquired its longtime electronics supplier JS Techtronics Assembly, forming CR Assembly, a contract electronics assembly division. Terms were not disclosed.

CR Assembly will offer services to other electronics firms.

Contemporary Research is an OEM of HDTV tuners and related components. The two companies have had a business relationship for more than 20 years.

JS Techtronics was founded in 1998 as Labor Techtronics Assembly. According to Hoover's, JS has sales of $1.3 million and 14 employees.

Michelle Hetzler has been named general manager of the new firm, and Morris Ngo has been named production manager.
