TABY, SWEDEN – Mydata Automation has changed its name to Mycronic Technologies,

effective immediately. The decision comes five years after Micronic purchased Mydata for $140 million.

The new name will unify the operations of Mydata and its parent company, the former Micronic Mydata, under a single brand, the company said in a statement.

“The decision is a part of a natural evolution of the two pioneering brands. As one brand, Mycronic is poised to further strengthen the value we bring to our customers and partners – to meet the fast-changing demands of electronics manufacturers around the world”, says Robert Göthner, senior vice president and general manager SMT. “Going forward, we will continue to leverage our strengths and cultivate the innovative spirit that makes us who we are as a company.

By bringing together world-leading expertise in pattern generation and SMT solutions, we will continue to create new opportunities for electronics manufacturers under a unified Mycronic brand.”

All subsidiaries across the globe will change their names to Mycronic and these procedures were initiated with the name change of the Parent Company to Mycronic AB, 2 June, 2014.
