ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — BEST Inc. is taking a novel approach to the paucity of good electronics manufacturing operators:

The master solder training and certification center is making its PCB inspectors and soldering/rework technicians available on a “rent” or “rent to own” basis. 

“As manufacturing continues to move back to the US there will be continued pressure to find trained, skilled and certified soldering technicians. Our customers are telling us that they are having difficulty finding trained people” said Christine Kraner of BEST.

Located in the Chicago suburbs, BEST has trained and certified the available soldering technicians in J-STD-001, advanced SMT PCB assembly and rework, component identification, ESD practices and other electronics manufacturing skills. The technicians can be contracted for a period of time or may be available on temporary to permanent hire basis, the company said.

BEST has completed a nine panel drug testing program as well as screened the employees via a background check, the firm added.
