HAMILTON, ON, CANADA -- Proto Advantage has acquired Chip Quik, matching a supplier of component adapters with a manufacturer of desoldering tools.

Proto Advantage makes a variety of adapters for SMT, PTH and BGA components. Niagra Falls, NY-based Chip Quik, which was founded in 1994, provides solder pastes, fluxes and related materials and tools for small-volume hand desoldering and soldering.

No financial or other terms were disclosed.
