VINCENNCES, CEDEX, FRANCE -- Inventec Performance Materials yesterday acquired SMT International, the manufacturer of Amtech brand solder pastes.

The acquisition expands Inventec's global footprint and product offerings. No financial terms were disclosed.

The merged companies will operate as Inventec Performance Chemicals USA (Inventec USA), a division of the Dehon Group.

Inventec global managing director Patrice Rollet called the deal "a critical step in expanding our presence across North America."

Amtech president Leigh Gesick becomes Inventec director of US Operations. He said, “This merging offers major advantages to Amtech customers, providing broader access to an expanded range of world-class products and services, and broaden global distribution channels for [our] solder products."

Inventec is a manufacturer of solder paste, conformal coating and cleaning products.
