COLOMIERS, FRANCE --Airbus is contemplating the sale of certain electronics design and development units within its defense division, according to a published report today.
The European aerospace consortium is seeking buyers for its radar, optronics and avionics supplies, as well as for part of its satellite communications unit, Reuters is reporting. The units are expected to fetch 800 million to 1 billion euros each, according to the Reuters report.
Airbus had previously indicated it planned to sell certain businesses with combined annual revenues of around 2 billion euros ($2.1 billion).
Investment bank Evercore has been contacted to oversee the sale of the units, the report said.
