OGDENSBURG, NY -- EMS provider Ansen has leased a 42,000 sq. ft. building here, where it will open its second printed circuit board assembly facility less than one mile from its headquarters plant.
The firm needed the extra capacity in order to accommodate increased demand for PCBs from Ephesus Lighting, a Syracuse-based OEM of LED lighting.
The site will employ about 50 workers within five years, the company told a local paper. Ansen has 200 workers at its existing plant.
Ansen had also looked at Clay, NY, about 130 miles away, but according to local reports opted for Ogdensburg due to better tax incentives, site lower build-out costs, and lower headcount due to its proximity to the current plant.
