REDMOND, WA -- Data I/O said third-quarter net sales slipped 0.9% year-over-year on currency fluctuations but rose 24% sequentially.
For the period ended Sept. 30, net sales were up 4.6% on a constant currency basis at $6.2 million.
Net income of $439,000 was down from $646,000 in 2014. The company took about $90,000 in one-time charges due to the relocation of its corporate headquarters in the just-closed quarter.
The company booked $5.9 million worth of orders during the period, shipped its first PSV7000 with LumenX programming technology to a leading European automotive electronics manufacturer, and sold multiple PSV3000 systems to a top 10 Chinese wireless company.
"The 2015 third quarter further demonstrates the success we are having executing our business plan as our PSV product line continues to win in the marketplace," said Anthony Ambrose, president and CEO.
For the quarter, gross margin as a percentage of sales was 51.5%, compared to 54.6% in 2014. The drop was primarily due to the impact of foreign currency exchange rates, and product and channel mix.
